Support Technician – Engineering

Nottingham College is going through some exciting changes as it emerges as one of the biggest colleges in the country. This role is a new and unique opportunity to shape services for our students, to give them the best possible experience whilst at the College.

We are looking to recruit a support technician to provide support to Lecturers, Students and other members of the Engineering team across all disciplines. It would be advantageous if you had understanding in one or more of the following areas: Turning, Milling, Welding and maintenance skills within Engineering.

You will be responsible for planning and organising materials, teaching aids and equipment, ensuring all resources are in place for learners use during practical sessions and that a safe working environment is maintained at all times.

It is essential that you have previous practical Engineering workshop experience and a good knowledge of Health and Safety. The successful candidate must also have good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work to deadlines and have a good working knowledge of IT. You may be required to work evenings and weekends as and when required.
