Following the creation of Lewisham and Southwark colleges a new opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, experienced and suitably qualified Learning Support Assessor to join Southwark College as part of the newly formed Student Services team.
As the Learning Support Assessor, you will support the Student Services Team Leader in providing outstanding quality in the Learning Support provision to a diverse student body. You will have experience supporting students with disabilities and SpLD needs, a knowledge of ALS funding rules and you will possess an understanding of best practice in the delivery of learning support to young people and adults.
You will be responsible for managing access arrangements and online requests for all appropriate exam concessions, ensuring access arrangements are conducted according to JCQ standards and liaising with Local Authorities to negotiate the appropriate funding for the costed support needed by the student.
You will be working within a multidisciplinary team of student support specialists, ensuring equality, diversity and inclusivity for students with complexed needs.
We are looking for a committed, well organised, positive and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills who is able to work as part of a wider team. You will have knowledge of up to date policies which ensure the College adheres to safeguarding vulnerable and at risk learners.
