There has never been a more exciting time to join Writtle University College – Not only will you be part of a newly formed Recruitment and Marketing Team, but the education sector is continually evolving. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join this dynamic environment, and help us achieve our strategic goals.

The purpose of this role is to motivate and inspire students, particularly those from under-represented backgrounds, to consider progression to higher education. As the Widening Participation and Outreach Officer, you will act as main point of contact for WUC’s outreach programme, and you will work in partnership with a range of targeted schools and colleges, creating and delivering a bespoke programme of activities and events, in order to raise aspirations to higher education. You will be responsible for delivering a range of projects and events which will include campus visits, taster days, masterclasses and summer schools.

You will need to have a can-do attitude to help deliver on our student recruitment targets and objectives as part of our Access and Participation Plan. You will also share our passion for education and believe in its ability to transform lives, society and our planet for the better.

You will have experience of working within a HE widening participation access setting, have a degree or be able to demonstrate the equivalent through experience, and hold a clean UK driving licence. Experience of leading successful outreach projects would also be advantageous.

This role may include some evening and weekend working.  It is primarily office based but at times will involve travelling as required.

Interview Date: 8th August 2019

(Although we may be able to offer an alternative interview date if you are unable to attend the scheduled interview day – please advise us of this on your application form)

Writtle University College strives to be an Equal Opportunities employer. All applicants who are offered employment will be subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
