Deputy Curriculum Director (Newton Rigg)

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.  Our campus at Newton Rigg is located near Penrith, Cumbria, and is surrounded by breathtaking scenery at the very heart of this rural, farming community.  The College trains and develops a wide range of learners from the county and across the country.

We are delighted to appoint to an exciting new opportunity for a Deputy Curriculum Director at the Newton Rigg site.  The successful candidate will support the Director in undertaking a wide range of responsibilities to ensure the effective day to day running of the specialist and general curriculum areas.  You will also lead and manage Programme Managers covering Further Education alongside full cost, community and adult education provision.  The role will involve the active management of department budgets and require a thorough understanding of learner issues and support requirements.

Educated to Honours Degree level and/or equivalent in a relevant specialist or management subject, applicants should also hold a teaching qualification in addition to a recognised Level 3 (or higher) management qualification.

You will have experience of leading a team in an educational setting and sound knowledge of the further education sector, including funding methodologies.  You should also be able to demonstrate a proven and recent track record of good or outstanding teaching.
