About Us

DGHE is the higher education division of David Game College. Established in 1974 the College is Ofsted inspected and QAA reviewed with a reputation for quality and academic excellence.

We deliver BA (Hons) Top-up degrees and level 4/5 Pearson BTEC HNDs in Business, Public Services, Health & Social Care and Art & Design. We now seek to appoint part-time tutors to support our adult learners in study skills, academic literacy, computing skills and English language.

About You

The position will suit someone with a qualification in teaching or who has extensive education and training experience especially at undergraduate level. You will have worked with adult students who have unrealised potential but have either not had the opportunity to realise it or have not taken the opportunity previously. You will have the ability and experience to use innovative and engaging teaching methods, relevant to adult learners, as well as the patience and skills to encourage, nurture and develop students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds and initial abilities.

You should be a graduate and have experience in teaching Study Skills and/or English for Academic Purposes within a HE context. Experience of preparing and delivering bespoke support that is integrated in to the curriculum would also be an advantage. You must be fluent in English, both written and oral, be able to provide effective feedback to students and have strong interpersonal and organisational skills. It is essential that you are highly IT literate and a proficient user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. You must also be familiar with Moodle (or similar VLE), TurnItIn  and Grademark.

Vacancies exist every term throughout the year and include both weekday, evening and Saturday teaching slots.
