Workforce Adviser

Fixed Term until December 2021

Due to continued expansion and internal progression, Gower College Swansea is looking for a motivated and engaging Workforce Adviser to contribute to the delivery of its highly successful ‘Better Jobs, Better Futures’ programme based in Swansea City Centre. 

The programme encompasses a number of separate EU-funded projects and works with unemployed young people and adults seeking employment as well as with those already in work who are looking to improve their employment potential. The programme also works with employers to create better jobs and more opportunities for in-work advancement through a range of workforce planning and workforce development practices. 

This post offers the opportunity to work with a wide range of partners across Swansea to deliver the best outcomes for those seeking to gain, retain or progress within work, as well as employers seeking to develop their workforce. 

The Workforce Adviser will provide in-depth advice and support on HR, workforce planning and workforce development issues, to businesses of all sizes and sectors, with the aim of creating better jobs and progression opportunities. Working with the programme’s Recruitment Consultants and Career Coaches they will keep abreast of local economic and labour market opportunities and trends.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with businesses to deliver workforce and recruitment advice.   Candidates must also have the ability to plan and manage their own workload, achieve challenging targets and quickly build productive working relationships with businesses and with internal and external stakeholders.

Applications may be submitted in Welsh and will be treated no less favourably than applications submitted in English.

Gower College Swansea is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check and require registration with the Education Workforce Council for Wales. 

Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to completing 6 months service).

Mae’r swydd hon yn cynnig cyfle i weithio gydag ystod eang o bartneriaid ar draws Abertawe i sicrhau'r canlyniadau gorau i'r rhai sy'n ceisio ennill, cadw neu symud ymlaen o fewn cyflogaeth, yn ogystal â chyflogwyr sy’n dymuno datblygu eu gweithlu.

Bydd yr Ymgynghorydd Gweithlu yn darparu cyngor a chymorth manwl ar faterion cynllunio a datblygu’r gweithlu i fusnesau o bob maint ac o bob sector, gyda’r nod o greu swyddi gwell a chyfleoedd i ddatblygu o fewn cyflogaeth. Gan weithio gyda Chynghorwyr Recriwtio a Hyfforddwyr Gyrfa, bydd gofyn i’r ymgeisydd llwyddiannus wybod am gyfleoedd a thueddiadau maes llafur economaidd lleol. 

Bydd gan yr ymgeisydd llwyddiannus brofiad o weithio gyda busnesau i roi cyngor recriwtio a chyngor gweithlu. Rhaid i ymgeiswyr fod â’r gallu i gynllunio a rheoli eu llwyth gwaith eu hunain, cyflawni targedau heriol a meithrin cysylltiadau gwaith cynhyrchiol yn gyflym â busnesau a rhanddeiliaid mewnol ac allanol.

Gellir cyflwyno cais yn Gymraeg a ni fydd y cais hwnnw’n cael ei drin yn llai ffafriol na chais a gyflwynir yn Saesneg.

Mae Coleg Gwyr Abertawe yn ymrwymedig i ddiogelu a hyrwyddo lles pobl ifanc ac yn disgwyl i’r holl staff rhannu’r ymrwymiad hwn. Bydd penodiadau yn cael eu gwneud ar sail gwiriad DBS pellach a bydd gofyn ymaelodi â Chyngor Gweithlu Addysg Cymru.

Fel rheol, bydd penodiadau yn cael eu gwneud ar waelod y raddfa gyflog gyda chynyddrannau blynyddol ar 1 Awst bob blwyddyn (ar yr amod eich bod wedi cwblhau 6 mis o wasanaeth).
