Learning Support Practitioner Manager

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Practitioner Manager to join our Learning Support Department here at York, within spectacular grounds. This role will be working 37 hours per week.
The successful candidate will lead and manage the learning support department across the organisation ensuring effective and efficient delivery of additional learning support. Line Management of Learning Support Co-ordinator, Specialist Learning Support Tutors and Learning Support Assistants. You will also be required to have effective management of High Needs Funding and to oversee the provision of learning support services, delivering first class learning support to all learners, reducing barriers to learning and maximising retention and success rates.
Educated to degree level or above in a relevant subject, candidates should hold a teaching qualification Level 4 with Specialist qualification in supporting learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities such as Dyslexia Assessment, Basic Skills or BSL Level 3 and Communication Support. You will have excellent knowledge of leading and managing a learning support service desirably within an FE, experience of planning and delivering effective staff inductions and training. You must have thorough knowledge of Disability Equality and the SEN Code of practice.
