Fixed Term for one year in the first instance
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced person to join our Media and Games department. You will be required to work with students at FE and HE level, supporting the NextGen Games team across the full range of provision. You will frequently work alongside lecturers providing workshops and demonstrations for the students and delivering elements of the course content alongside the Games team as well as helping students with their projects in our newly created ‘Games Hub’. You may also deliver a couple of teaching sessions per week.
Our NextGen courses cover the 3 areas of animation, games design and visual effects and you will have experience in at least one of these fields. A related degree or experience working within the games industry is desirable. You will have a high level of interpersonal, motivational, communication and organisation skills. You will also have experience in the following softwares: Adobe Creative suite, Maya and Unity or Unreal Engine. Substance Painter/Z Brush. Nuke would also be advantageous. Any coding experience (C++, C# or python) would be an added bonus. Alongside this the ideal candidate will hold a recognised teaching qualification or show the willingness to undertake appropriate training for which support will be given.
You will need to be highly organised and flexible in your approach to work. You will enjoy a challenge, and ideally have experience of working within a team. You should have a passion for working with people of all ages, especially young adults and school leavers.
