The post is within the Scottish School of Forestry which is based in its own forestry campus supporting education across both FE and HE. This post will be predominantly teaching at HE level (up to Honours) but may on occasion be asked to deliver and support FE teaching. Specialist knowledge and experience of some or all of the following is required: forest management including health and safety, planning and site management, establishment, silviculture and harvesting operations; forest policy and regulations; tree health, community forestry and recreation.
The Scottish School of Forestry is expanding its teaching programmes and research so any teaching at Masters level and above or experience in PhD supervision is desirable but not essential. Similarly this is not a research active post but there may be some opportunities in developing research in line with SSF development plans.
