Nescot Enterprises Limited (NEL), which is owned by and based at North East Surrey College of Technology, known as NESCOT in Epsom Surrey, has the ambition to be the trainer of Chefs and front of house staff of the future.  The successful candidate will join NESCOT’s Restaurant team who are dedicated to help the College deliver high quality education by providing outstanding food and service to  students, staff and the wider general public.

We are looking for a Kitchen Porter with experience of working in a busy kitchen that cares about the food that it serves, and, to be successful, you will be consistent, reliable, and willing to learn and adapt to different ways of working.

Your primary responsibility will be ensuring kitchen cleanliness, basic food preparation, and helping maintain kitchen operations.

The successful postholder will be responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy kitchen environment as well as assisting with general kitchen duties. Working within a busy kitchen supporting the Head Chef and other kitchen staff, you will work in a team to ensure that all smallwares, cutlery and equipment are all maintained and working correctly.  You’ll work together to report on any malfunctions or hazards and carry out instructions from the Management team.

You will be used to working under pressure in a busy restaurant environment, ensuring compliance at all times with  all relevant food hygiene standards and Health & Safety Regulations.

The successful candidate must be fluent in English.
