Our vision at Thurrock Adult Community College is to provide adult education where people have opportunity to learn, grow and shape their future.
To ensure we achieve our goals we are looking for highly motivated tutors to teach across all levels to help us increase and develop a diverse curriculum that meets the needs of the people of Thurrock and enables them to achieve their life and career ambitions enabling them to take advantage of all the opportunities that are available to them.
You should be learner focused in your approach, demonstrate enthusiasm and passion in your subject and welcome the opportunity to contribute to the College mission, which is to make a positive difference to local people and their communities.
Our focus at present is to recruit a fully qualified teacher with an English specialism (please refer to job description/person specification for the qualifications). The successful applicant will need to work 22.2 hours a week including one evening but the days and times can be negotiated.
We require someone who has experience of teaching English Language GCSE. It is desirable that the applicant has also had experience of teaching functional skills. The post holder will be expected to teach GCSE, functional skills and also some stepping-stones unit qualifications.
