Plymouth College of Art is seeking a Subject Leader for Art. This new role will be instrumental in the shaping of the College’s UAL Extended Diploma in Art and Design and will be best suited to somebody with experience of further education leadership in arts practice.
An independent university-sector art school with a dedicated Pre-Degree campus for 16 to 19-year-olds, Plymouth College of Art is a significant provider for the arts in the South West of the UK. The College consistently exceeds national benchmarks for vocational education, by significant margins, and the introduction of a new International Baccalaureate Career Programme (IBCP) for September 2019 is driving a significant rise in recruitment at the college.
Plymouth College of Art is home to the BFI Film Academy South West, a founding associate of Tate Exchange, and was a founding partner of the Sorrell Foundation’s National Art and Design Saturday Club. The College also holds the Social Enterprise Gold Mark for its systemic commitment to community engagement.
Ensuring a strong synergy between the College’s IBCP and UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma qualifications, you will work closely as part of a team with three existing Pre-Degree Subject Leaders. Leading a highly experienced team of professional educators and artists, you will work directly under the line management of Plymouth College of Art’s Curriculum Manager for Art.
This role will require an innovative approach from an individual who is excited by the idea of leading and shaping development in an institution where everybody’s voice is heard and valued.
