Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

The role of Learning Mentor is a key part of the College structure for the support and development of all of our students.  Based in the Learning Zone, the post holder will work with students and staff in all curriculum areas of the college, supporting class based activity and in one to one meetings with students.

You will also have a specific remit for working with students with a range of additional learning support needs, and in liaising with staff across the college to ensure the needs of the students are met.

You should be able to demonstrate how you would be able to communicate clearly and constructively with a wide range of students.  The ability to work well in a team and to show sound organisational skills are also key requirements.

Previous experience of supporting learners is essential for this post, and knowledge of the use of assistive technologies would be desirable.  A good all round education is required, and although not a requirement for this post a qualification such as the PDA Support for Learning would be advantageous.

Closing Date: 12 noon on 13 June 2019

Interviews will be held on 21 June 2019

This post undertakes regulated work with children and protected adults and a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check is required.  A check will be made against the list of those barred from working with children and protected adults.
