Director of Higher Education

We have great opportunity based at either our Bedford or Kettering campus for a Director of Higher Education to become a key part of our organisation shaping the future of higher education.

As a Director of Higher Education, you will play a key part supporting the success of our students through:

  • Developing and leading on the Higher Education Strategy at The Bedford College Group in line with the College’s strategic plans.
  • Leading the development and growth and profile of Higher Education which maximises rapid progress, student progression and student employability.
  • Ensuring outstanding provision and outcomes for Higher Education students across The Bedford College Group, meeting all the condition of registration requirements of the Office for Students.

Our ideal candidates will have successful experience of managing Higher Education curriculum development, innovation and change, including delivering on HE recruitment targets and TEF metrics (including excellent NSS scores) and experience of leading effective partnership working with employers, validating HEIs and other external partners and Additional Experience, of committee work including preparing reports, attending committees and presenting papers alongside the following qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent vocational/professional qualification.
  • Post Graduate Degree qualification (Masters, PHD or equivalent).
  • Fellow of Higher Education Academy or willingness to achieve within 6 months.
  • Evidence of recent professional development and scholarship.
