We have an exciting opportunity for five individuals to join the Writtle University College Board and help to transform lives through inspiring education. In addition, we are also looking to appoint a new Chair of Governors. Our Governors/Trustees work closely with the Vice-Chancellor and CEO, and staff and students, to shape the future strategic direction of the institution.  We are currently looking for enthusiastic people who are interested in playing a key role in helping WUC to strengthen its position as a high quality provider of Higher and Further Education.  This is an interesting and rewarding opportunity to bring insights from your own field of experience to this role, to support the experience of our students and prepare them for a range of careers.

Whilst a wide range of skills is being sought, we particularly welcome (although not exclusively) enquiries from those with experience one of these key areas:

  • Human Resources, including remuneration and safeguarding
  • Higher Education experience
  • Estates and property management

  • Strategic change management

We are looking for high-calibre individuals who share our vision, values and ambitions – and who will help us to realise the enormous potential of this very special institution.

Independent Governors are expected to spend a minimum of 1 day a month on site, rising to 2 days per month, whilst the Chair of Governors is expected to spend a minimum of 3 days per month on site.
