We require people who are self-motivated, have good manual dexterity and problem solving skills. The job will be a hands on role, based at Milton Keynes within Production, Sub Assembly, Product Assembly Lines, Logistics, Service, Test & Development. The successful applicant will develop into a top class practical Manufacturing, Service or Development Technician with expert knowledge in Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic assembly, linked to developing, building and servicing the Niftylift product range.

During the programme, students will develop their practical skills in the role of Trainee Manufacturing Technician and on successful completion of the training programme / apprenticeship, full time employment may be offered in one of the following positions:

Production/Assembly - Manufacturing Technician

This role requires team players with a proven skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical installation. The role requires operating to high quality/workmanship standards, within a manufacturing cell/flow line production environment. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing/production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial competition cost budgets (i.e. logistics/materials handling, preparation, painting, mechanical assembly, electrical assembly, fitting/fabrication, service/maintenance and development).

Service Engineer

This role requires team players with strong practical and theoretical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems and installations. Technical understanding and structured fault diagnostics and repair skills. Able to liaise directly with customers in a professional and courteous manner. Flexible to work internal and external to the main site, and able to travel within the UK and abroad. Operating to high quality/workmanship standards, within a demanding customer focused environment. You will be required to perform a range of repair/maintenance operations to the required quality standard, on time, and within commercial cost budgets.

Development Technician

This role requires team players with a proven skills, knowledge and experience of mechanical assembly, along with hydraulic and electrical development and installation. The role requires operation to high quality/workmanship standards, within a prototype build production environment. This will require structured feedback in developing and improving the product from the design concept stage, to a safe, cost effective, reliable, quality product, ready to be handed over to production for volume build. You will be required to perform a range of manufacturing/production operations to the required quality standard, on time and within commercial cost budgets.

Entry requirements

  • Minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent): Grade 4 (C) or above in Maths, English and Science.

  • EAL Level 3: Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
