Abbey Precision have an opportunity for an ambitious individual with a desire to work in the engineering industry. This is an excellent opportunity to be employed in an engineering role within the milling department - specialising in machining of components using state of the art CNC mills.

Abbey Precision Limited specialise in the production of high precision components for industries such as formula 1, automotive and the military. Your training will allow you to complete many engineering tasks to a high standard.

Abbey are the 2017 Metallics Supplier of the Year to the Mercedes F1 Team.

The apprentice role will be in our milling department, training on our CNC mills. Abbey invests heavily in new technology and is at the leading edge of the industry. Training will include programming, setting and operating of machinery.

CNC Milling role:

  • Set and run CNC milling machines
  • Program jobs using offline CAM solutions
  • Measure components using manual and CMM machines
  • Prepare material for machining

Abbey takes on a high calibre apprentice approximately every two years.

Entry requirements

  • GCSE qualifications grade C or above in Maths, English and Science or equivalent.

Qualifications taken

Your training will include the use of computer aided machining, quality control machines and job preparation.

Advanced Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship

  • Attendance to Chaffron Way Campus 
  • Regular visits from the College in the workplace
  • Observations and assessments in the workplace
  • Use of e-portfolio and End point assessment (Test)
  • Ongoing training and support from both the employer and College
