Working week: Monday to Friday - Start at 8.30am to 4.30 with half an hour lunch break. Total hours per week: 36.50
To ensure the maintenance of the Academy’s estate including, buildings, facilities and transport asset. These are all to be maintained and developed to a very high and consistent standard to satisfy the Academy’s requirements and those of all regulatory and statutory bodies. You will be trained in all aspects of Facilities Manager for the Academy.
Main Responsibilities
Whilst not an exhaustive list, the main duties of the post relating to the Academy:
- Support the Estate Team ensuring all grounds, buildings, fixtures and fittings are appropriately maintained in accordance with the agreed priorities
- Ensure the security of the property is properly maintained, that users have access at appropriate times and that an appropriate response is made in the event of a property related incident
- Ensure all Training through Dudley College is met
- Assist the development and implementation of the Academy’s minor works and capital estate development programmes
- Ensure that the health and safety policy is followed at all times
- Safe working practices within the local Estates team are adhered to and effective control of contractors is maintained at all times
- Manage day-to-day health and safety within the team
- Promote risk management within the Academy
- Occasionally participate in Estates Duty Manager rota (being on-call on a rotated basis)
- Undertake any training or updating necessary to maintain a foremost position in your field
- Commitment to outstanding customer service attitudes and approach and a commitment to drive such service attitudes with support from the Estates team
- Commit to, promote and operate in accordance with Harborne Academy’s values and goals including but not limited to: safeguarding; health and safety; equality, diversity and inclusion
- Commit to and participate in activities as required including but not limited to: enrolment and open events
- To undertake any other duties within the spirit of the job description and commensurate with the grading of the post
Desired qualifications
- Desired - Grade C (9-4) or above at GCSE (or equivalent level qualification and grade) in maths and English Language
