Teacher in Charge of A Level Sociology
About the role:
To teach A Level Sociology and to be responsible for A Level Sociology, and to work closely with the A allowance holder to maintain quality of provision for students.
You will be an experienced and enthusiastic teacher of A Level Sociology with high expectations of students. You will have some experience of leading a team of teachers and of tracking and monitoring students. You will be interested in developing teaching, learning and assessment across your team and will be committed to the continuous professional development of yourself and others. Sociology is a popular subject at the Sixth Form College with over 300 A-level Sociology students currently on roll. All teachers are tutors to a pastoral group of up to 22 A-level students.
City & Islington College is a successful further education college based in the London Borough of Islington, delivering a wide range of academic and vocational courses. The college has five centres and enrols over 11,000 students, including 4,500 16-18 year olds.
The Sixth Form College at Angel, Islington, is a major London sixth form college specialising in A Level provision. We offer 35 A Level subjects to over 1700 students a year from across the city, alongside an extensive enrichment package which develops our students' confidence and skills.
