Teacher of Physics

About the role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Teacher of Physics to join our established team at City and Islington Sixth Form College. We currently have over 120 A Level Physics students on roll and are keen to work collaboratively with a new team member to develop teaching and learning both within the Physics team and the wider 15-strong A Level Science Department. With extensive experience of A-Level teaching across the area there is an established culture of improving and advancing pedagogical practice to meet the needs of students.

About you:

We are looking for an outstanding teacher and leader with high expectations of students. You will have successful experience of teaching A-level Physics and be enthusiastic, creative and care about students.

City & Islington College is a successful further education college based in the London Borough of Islington, delivering a wide range of academic and vocational courses. The college has five centres and enrols over 11,000 students, including 4,500 16-18 year olds. 

City and Islington Sixth Form College is a well-established and over-subscribed specialist A-level centre, with 1600 students on roll. We are situated on one site at the Angel in the heart of London and our wonderful students travel from across the capital to learn with us. All teachers are tutors to a pastoral group of up to 22 A-level students and we have a wide range of enrichment and extension activities to develop our students' confidence and skills.

The Sixth Form Centre at Angel Islington is a major London sixth form college, offering a huge range of A Level subjects to over 1700 students a year from across the city.
