We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team delivering REAction, a two year project funded through a Water Environment Grant (WEG) on behalf of the Environment Agency. 

The Lead Agri-Environment Advisor will ensure a programme is developed to provide specialist advice to farmers, landowners and land managers, and support the implementation of interventions and measures that reduce diffuse pollution from agricultural land and rural areas. 

The Lead Agri-Environment Advisor will need to build excellent relationships with farmers and land-owners and work with them to produce water, nutrient and soil management plans that identify potential interventions to reduce diffuse pollution. The Lead Agri Environment Advisor will need to gain commitment from farmers to implement the plans and support farmers to prepare funding applications for support from REAction. 

You will need in depth knowledge and understanding of farm infrastructure, farming systems, operations and practices. You will have detailed knowledge and experience of creating water, nutrient and soil management plans, and experience and knowledge of legislation/regulation relating to the farmed environment. You will be experienced in advising farmers on Countryside Stewardship and other environment funding schemes. 

The job holder may be able to register and study for a fully-funded Masters by Research (MRes) qualification as part of the work. 

The post is based at the offices of the Severn Rivers Trust in Welshpool.
