High Voltage Systems Ltd based in Northampton, are currently recruiting for a Apprentice Technician to assist our technicians with the calibration and repair of technical equipment and to conduct on site testing, fault location and commissioning on a variety of projects across the UK.
Main responsibilities:
- Calibration of HV equipment and associated instruments
- AC testing up to 100kV
- DC testing up to 300kV
- Long range TDR
- Partial discharge testing
- Capacitance and Tandelta testing up to 100kV
- Cable fault location
- Sheath testing
- SCT36 Positive and Zero Sequence
- SCT36 Cross Bonding Verification
- SCT36 Conductor Resistance
- SCT36 Earth Bonding System
- SCT36 SVL
- Power and energy metering.
Things to consider:
- Hours per week: 37 + possibility of paid overtime
- A full UK driving license is desirable
- A willingness to travel is essential including some working away from home typically 1-2 night stays, as and when required
- Possibility of European travel
Entry requirements
- GCSE English and Maths GCSE A*-C/4-9 or level 2 equivalents
