Lecturer - SEN
Part Time 0.4 FTE (14.4 hours per week)
This is an excellent opportunity for a professional and well-qualified teacher to join the specialist SEND team at Waltham Forest College.
You will be responsible for teaching and tutoring students with SEND.
You must possess an appropriate teaching qualification and have experience in teaching SEND students. You must be able to teach PSD, maths, English and ICT. You must also be able and willing to facilitate travel training and trips that help develop independent living skills, to accompany students on sports activities and take them on educational trips.
We are looking for candidates who provide teaching to students with SEND in one or more of the following areas: Art, Crafts, Performing Arts / Drama, Music.
It is essential that you enjoy working with students with SEND and that you are adept at dealing with the various behavioural and classroom management issues that often arise with experience of using positive behaviour strategies when dealing with students with ASD.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a real enthusiasm for teaching combined with a willingness to support and motivate learners to succeed.
You will need to have received a grade 1 or 2 in a recent lesson observation.
