Part Time Hourly Paid Communication Support Worker

The College has an extensive system of Learning Support that operates across the whole College. There is a policy of inclusion and no discrete courses for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities; all students follow mainstream courses.

As Communication Support Worker you will be supporting students to attend mainstream classes, work placement and other College activities.

You will have sound knowledge and understanding of issues facing disabled people as well as experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds. You will also possess a level 3 BSL qualification or equivalent and training/qualifications in line with Non-Medical Helper requirements for supporting Higher Education students. With excellent organisation and record keeping skills you will be able to form effective and professional working relationships and work in a variety of different learning environments. As an individual you will be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and be willing to work flexibly.
