JOB OVERVIEW

This is a fantastic opportunity to take Academic Leadership of our University College Dublin International Study Centre, as it embarks on an exciting stage of its development as it is now ready to advance into a new era of Academic excellence. This role is the most senior position within the centre, so you will take full operational responsibility whilst working strategically with the Cluster Director. It’s a unique opportunity for someone to join and really take ownership of an educational establishment and implement new and exciting strategies.

You will ensure a student’s first approach is adopted focusing on student experience and teaching and learning strategies across the centre. With innovative and creative ideas, you’ll have the opportunity to implement a positive change within the centre, utilising its wonderful culture to enhance the student experience. You’ll manage a number of key stakeholders, driving the relationship with the University whilst acting as an ambassadors to the wider Study Group network whilst implement Study Group strategies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You’ll ensure the delivery of high quality academic and language programmes in line with QQI, UCD guidelines through its Academic Oversight Board and Study Group.
  • You will provide effective leadership to enhance the student learning experience and to foster a culture of teaching excellence.
  • You will drive the partnership with the University.
  • You’ll ensure the achievement of excellent academic outcomes and progression results.
  • Driving innovation to support the development of a wide range of teaching and learning opportunities.
  • To lead, support and positively encourage the centre through recognition and re-validation events as appropriate ensuring that all members of staff are fully engaged and are aware of their role in the process.

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience leading an educational establishment.
  • Proven success of delivering academic excellence whilst meeting financial and commercial targets.
  • Experience of managing, developing, inspiring and motivating academic staff and building high performance teams.
  • Demonstrable understanding of academic management and knowledge of educating international students.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the Irish Academic Quality Frameworks.
  • Some experience working in a Higher Education environment is desirable.
  • A Master’s Degree.
