South Gloucestershire and Stroud College is a large and progressive FE College with a growing HE provision, (including HNDs, Foundation Degrees and full Honours Degrees) based in North Bristol, with 6 campus sites across the city, South Gloucestershire and Gloucestershire.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Careers Advisor to deliver high quality, impartial careers information, advice and guidance to 16-24 year olds across FE and HE courses supported by a dedicated team of peers. They will work closely with Heads of Careers and HE Student Experience in honing a strategy that aims to achieve full Gatsby ‘Good Careers Guidance’ benchmark compliance for the college, as it enters an ambitious period of developing its careers services to all students.

SGS College is committed to partnership working and is a key member of the newly established West of England Careers Hub, one of only 20 in the country. This ensures our involvement in cutting-edge development of the Gatsby Benchmarks in the South West.

SGS Careers Services is Matrix accredited and works with 18 secondary school partners as well as serving its own 4,000 16-18 years student cohort and 400 HE students. The successful candidate will split their time equally between HE and FE work .  

Expected Interview Date: Thursday 07 February 2019

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate, Enhanced with Children’s Barred list check, as a requirement of the job.
