Automotive Technician

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our Automotive department. Our Automotive department offers education and training to a range of students from 14 to 18, 19 plus and apprentices studying in either Further or Higher Education, delivering qualifications from Entry level 3 to level 4 in the following areas - light vehicle maintenance, heavy vehicle maintenance, motorcycle maintenance and body and paint.

As an Automotive Technician, you will be a member of an innovative team of highly qualified professionals, where you will have the opportunity to shape the future of students, by providing them with the skills, knowledge and training required to enable them to achieve their goals.

You will provide technical support for the delivery of the Automotive Curriculum and support tutors in the preparation of their classes. This role will involve preparing and maintaining materials, tools and equipment, maintaining a healthy and safe environment, develop and build rigs or models for assessment purposes and ordering and maintaining stock levels of consumables/tools/equipment.

As an Automotive Technician, you should:

  • Have GCSE A* - C in Maths and English or equivalent (9 - 4)
  • Have a Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) in Automotive Studies or a relevant vocational area
  • Have a wide range of experience gained within the Automotive industry

You should also be able to demonstrate:

  • Specialist vocational skills in Automotive industry
  • The ability to work in a busy environment
  • The ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
