Ravensbourne is looking to recruit an adaptable, innovative, and future thinking lecturer to join the Fashion Accessory & Textile Futures team. This rapidly growing specialism involves developing digital and physical outcomes both 3D and 2D within Fashion Accessory & Textile Futures. Applicants should be motivated and inspired by the growth potential for this sector within industry. The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing this course under the direction of the Course Leader for Fashion Accessory & Textile Futures.

The successful applicant will have a first degree or post-graduate qualification in a relevant subject, and should be able to demonstrate good, recent professional knowledge and experience (ideally both industry and academic) in Fashion. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage students directly with their chosen industry will be of significant benefit. Applicants should also have the ability to employ creative learning and teaching methods, as well as contribute innovative ideas and participate in the curriculum design. 

Applicants will be expected to possess clear knowledge and understanding of prototyping practices and techniques, including paper prototyping, cross-disciplinary design practices and co-creation and will be expected to have working knowledge and skills in prototyping for accessories and/or knitted textiles. Applicants should be current in their knowledge of Material Innovation and be able to advise on the currency and appropriateness of fashion technology. Applicants should ideally have an active interest in rapid prototyping and 3D printing tools and a basic knowledge of programmes such as Rhino and the Adobe Creative Suite.
