Leeds City College is one of the UK’s largest FE establishments with around 1200 employees and over 35,000 students. Offering a diverse curriculum within a vibrant and multicultural learning environment, our goal is to deliver excellent and innovative education which supports and inspires every student to achieve their ambitions.

Various hours available, to be discussed at interview.

Wanted, Support Workers for Alternative Provision, both full time and part time vacancies available on a term time only basis. You will be required to offer learning and behavioural support to learners with a range of social, emotional and special educational needs, working under the direction of teaching and curriculum staff to offer targeted support in class and/ or vocational support in our wide range of practical workshops. This is an immensely challenging but equally rewarding role for the right candidates.

You will need to be patient, calm and resilient with the ability to set clear and consistent boundaries, a team player who is self-reflective and contributes positively to team meetings and college processes: collaborative working is key to ensuring that we meet the needs of our learners, keep them safe and ensure progression onto positive destinations.

You will need to have a good standard of general education including a minimum grade C (4) in English and maths. Previous experience of working with SEMH learners would be ideal, although not essential.

If you are looking for part time work or flexible term time only working, feel that you can make a difference to the educational experiences and future prospects of our learners and enjoy working in a challenging, dynamic, ever changing but equally supportive and team focused environment, then this is the role for you.

Leeds City College is committed to Equality of Opportunity (ensuring everyone is treated fairly) and safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
