SGS College has a highly successful Counselling Programme Area at our Filton and Stroud campuses and we are looking to recruit a counselling Lecturer to join the team.

We are looking for a dedicated person with well-developed practical and teaching skills who will be responsible for Delivery of the Level 5 Diploma. Duties will include organisation and teaching on the course, assessment, preparation, tutorials, group supervision and skills feedback.

The successful person will need to have previously taught to at least Level 4 with adequate client work plus a teaching qualification and/or teaching experience. They will also possess a Diploma in counselling and a supervision qualification or 1 year experience of providing supervision to individuals in a counselling setting.

Knowledge of counselling approaches, particularly humanistic and specifically Person Centred is required.

The post is for 6 hours per week which will be one full day teaching with additional admin time.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory Disclosure Certificate, Enhanced with Children’s Barred list check, as a requirement of the job.
