Lecturer – Criminology

Salary: £32,769 - £38,536 per annum, pro rata

Hours: 21 hours per week (0.6 FTE)

Contract: Part Time/Permanent

Perth College UHI is one of Scotland’s leading Colleges of Further and Higher Education, and a large partner in Scotland’s newest University, the University of the Highlands and Islands.

We are looking for an enthusiastic personality who will be able to carry out and demonstrate all aspects of Criminology in a range of teaching environments. It would be welcomed if your area of primary expertise was in Criminology with secondary experience in Sociology. Your skills should be current and occupational experience is essential.

You will deliver teaching in all aspects of the Social Sciences and Humanities from HNC Social Sciences (SCQF Level 7) and BA Social Science and/or BA Sociology and Criminology (level 7-10). You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent. Previous teaching experience is desirable and a teaching qualification (TQFE) or similar would be advantageous.

You must have clear and confident communication skills, the ability to relate well to others and work as part of a team, good planning and organisational skills, initiative and self-motivation.
