Who we are

The BPP Professional Education Group, founded 40 years ago, is a global education provider delivering world-class professional apprenticeships, qualifications, degree programmes and professional development. The group delivers programmes across the UK and internationally through innovative online learning platforms and local partners in the countries in which we operate.

What you’ll do

BPP is a leading provider of apprenticeships at levels 2-7 and is now seeking a dedicated professional to support apprenticeship quality. As Head of Apprenticeship Quality, you will support the Associate Dean (Partnerships) in ensuring the BPP Education Group, and its sub-contractors, deliver training in accordance with Ofsted’s expectations to ensure at least a ‘good’ grade and to aim for ‘outstanding’.

For this role, we are looking for someone who is already an expert in the Ofsted regulatory regime. You will bring a positive can-do attitude with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to work with a range of stakeholders in a fast moving and complex compliance space. For candidates who are interested, there will be the opportunity to develop beyond the remit of the role and to get involved in other areas of the Associate Dean’s responsibility.

PRINCIPAL JOB ELEMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Be an internal expert in relation to Ofsted expectations;
  2. Develop institutional performance indicators to achieve at least a ‘good’ grade in all areas;
  3. To influence continual institutional enhancement towards an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted grade;
  4. To provide regular staff training on Ofsted requirements;
  5. To play a key role in preparations for Ofsted visits;
  6. To prepare Self-Assessment Reports and Position Statements;
  7. To prepare, maintain and own BPP’s Quality Improvement Plan;
  8. To act as secretary to key apprenticeship committees;
  9. Deputise for the Associate Dean as required;
  10. Undertake any other such duties as may reasonably be required.

Role requirements

  1. First-degree qualified, or equivalent level qualification;
  2. Experience of working in a compliance or apprenticeship/education related role;
  3. Specific knowledge and experience of Ofsted compliance;
  4. Able to produce high-quality, credible reports for senior management to enable them to make decisions;
  5. Willingness to travel nationally, as required;
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise your own work and act on your own initiative, but knowing when to ask for help;
  7. Excellent communication skills and an ability to listen and find areas of good practice and areas for improvement;
  8. Ability to work well as part of a team and to influence others;
  9. High personal standards of accuracy and attention to detail;
  10. Strong skills in organisation and coordination; and
  11. High ethical standards.

Please note the successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS Check.
