Responsible to: Workshop Supervisor
You will be working alongside the existing workshop team to learn all aspects of the Assembly & Test Technician Role detailed below:
- Electrical/Electronic assembly of HUK products to include prototype assembly
- Testing of HUK Products to include assemblies
- Cable and harness assembly for use within products
- Mechanical assembly
- Loading operating and product software
- Preparing build and test procedures
- Liaising with Design Engineers, Electrical, Mechanical, R & D prior to and during build and test
- General assistance/support to Operations
- General assistance/support to the R & D Department

Entry requirements
Desired qualifications
GCSE Grade C/4 or above in maths, English and Science (or equivalent).
Skills Required
Essential:
- Qualified to a good level of all round GCSEs
- A-C (4 or above) in GCSE maths
- Ability to work from written and pictorial instructions
- Computer literate
Desirable:
- An existing knowledge of electrical/electronic engineering
- Practical experience

Qualifications taken
Apprenticeship Standard for Engineering Technician
- Attendance at Chaffron Way Campus
- (3 days in Year 1, 1 day in Years 2 & 3, no required college attendance in Year 4)
- Regular visits from the College into the workplace
- Observations and assessments in the workplace
- Use of e-portfolio
- End point assessment
- Ongoing training and support from the College and employer
