HE Careers Advisor

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Penrith.

We looking for a Higher Education Careers Advisor to join us where you will support and guide existing and prospective HE students at the College and our various sites. This is a part time role, working 14.8 hours per week for 42 weeks of the year. Based at York, the role involves frequent travel to our other sites.

Supporting applications and students to make informed decisions, you will assess their values, interests, abilities and skills and relate these to opportunities for employment, further study and training. Advising on how to present effectively at interviews and cope with the transition from Further Education to Higher Education and from FE to employment, the role also involves promoting the key employability skills of students, including careers education within the curriculum.

We are looking for someone who has the appropriate qualification in CEIAG at Level 4 or above (or who is working towards this), coupled with experience in careers education and guidance. With an enthusiasm for working with undergraduates of all ages, you will have a coaching and mentoring aptitude and be highly organised.
