Are you an experienced and qualified mental health specialist able to ensure appropriate practical and psychological support is in place? Do you want to enable students to function more effectively and fulfil their personal and academic potential? If so, we are looking for you to join our Wellbeing team.
In this new role, we are looking for someone with substantial experience of providing support for people with mental health conditions (moderate to severe and long term). If you are able to evidence the capacity to assess, monitor and manage young adults living with mental health difficulties (particularly borderline personality disorders, bi polar and schizophrenia), including crisis response, we would be very interested in hearing from you.
The role holder will become the key point of contact for advice and guidance in relation to student mental health issues. Essential to this role is effective and responsive liaison with community and university college student support services, as well as the ability and confidence to deliver mental health awareness training sessions to colleagues across the organisation.
To be successful in your application, you will need to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification (e.g. Registered Mental Health Nurse or Social Worker with experience of working in Mental Health Services). You will also need to have substantial experience as a practitioner and be able to maintain a calm and confident approach in challenging situations. You will need the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment and ideally have worked within the further/higher education sector.
