25 hours per week, term time only.

Inside Worthing College there is a shop called The Corner Shop. It is based in the West Hub of the College. The shop provides a range of convenience foods and products to students, staff and visitors and opens from 9.30am till 2.30pm, Monday – Friday.

We are seeking a highly motivated Retail Assistant to work in The Corner Shop. You will be based in the shop providing a daily service to our customers.

With a hands-on approach, you will support the Manager to increase sales and profitability, provide superb customer care and motivate the team including apprentices and volunteers. You must have customer service/retail experience and be able to work within a team environment. As a Retail Assistant you will be key to our success as you will be the face of our business, making sure we deliver an outstanding service each and every time to enhance the shopping experience for our customers. You will be required to ensure consistently high standards in how we treat our customers, the services we offer and how our shop looks.

We are looking for someone who sees customer service as a number one priority, and who is flexible enough to deal with the demands of a busy selling environment. The work will involve a lot of standing and lifting stock.

The post will be line managed by the Marketing and Business Services Manager. The post holder will work as part of a highly professional and committed service team. On the job training will be provided. The person appointed will be required to complete relevant training such as food hygiene and manual handling.
