Clerk to the Governors

22.5 hours per week.

As Clerk to the Governors, you will be responsible for organising and proactively managing the relationship with the Board of Governors’ committees and sub-committees on behalf of both Hartpury University and Hartpury College. Providing independent expert advice on all governance matters to the Chair and other Corporation Members, you will comprehensively manage the administration of the committee structures being in attendance at all Corporation and sub-committees meetings to provide support and minute meetings.

The role requires you to have a thorough understanding of the higher education and/or further education sector. You must demonstrate excellent judgment and initiative and possess the ability to evaluate precedents and analyse best practice based on a clear understanding of statutory and governance issues for both university and college settings. Exceptional written communication skills are a pre-requisite for the role, as is a strong organisational ability, to ensure deadlines and standards are consistently met.
