Working Week: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:30 pm with an hour for lunch
Duration: 18 Months

The role of the Workshop Assistant is to prepare service spares for engineers, book in stock and hotstage preparation.
- Process goods receiving and despatch
- Process service engineer hardware exchanges
- Cleaning equipment
- Process documentation relating to new customer orders / opportunities
- Pre-prepare service spares for Service Engineers
- Posting equipment to site
- Sending emails, doing reports, updating engineer stock, stock rotation for engineer
- Van stock.
- Checking engineer van stock and tools on a weekly basis.
- Ensuring a clean working environment
- Any other duties which may be required and deemed appropriate to the level of the role
- Working un-supervised
- Assist in the configuration of new hardware on hot stage

Entry requirements
Must hold 5 GCSEs (graded A* to C or 9 to 5) or equivalent including English/ Maths
Skills Required
- Software and hardware experience
- Experience with computer hardware preferred but not essential
- Problem solving/fault finding skills
- Good organisational skills
- Effective communication skills
- To work with minimal supervision
- Capable of working within a team
- Good timekeeping

Qualifications taken
The apprenticeship will incorporate face to face workshops, online learning and on the job experience.
In addition to achieving a Level 3 IT Infrastructure qualification the apprentice will also study for the following:
- City & Guilds Knowledge Module 1 – Networking & Architecture
- City & Guilds Knowledge Module 2 - Mobile & Operating Systems
- City & Guilds Knowledge Module 2 – Cloud Services
- City & Guilds Knowledge Module 4 – Coding & Logic
- ITIL Foundation Level
- Functional Skills (if required)
- College attendance
- Regular visits from the College into the workplace
- Observations and assessments in the workplace
- Use of e-portfolio
- End point assessment
