Mars Horsecare are looking to recruit an Engineering apprentice where you will receive training and become a technical associate in the future. This is an ideal opportunity to start your career in Engineering and learn about the industry.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Completion of NVQ Level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations Mechanical and Electrical.
- Completion of BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering.
- Starting the NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Engineering Maintenance in Mechanical or Electrical bias.
- Building your knowledge of the Mars culture and behaviours through assigned courses.
- Building your knowledge of Mars Safety systems through courses and QMP assessments.
- Completion of work based assignments and placements in agreed areas and disciplines.
- Development of skills and knowledge at our training partners as well as mechanical placements in the workplace.
- Planned and scheduled maintenance.
- Reactive, unplanned repairs.
- Decommissioning of machinery.
- Installation and commissioning of machinery.
- Refurbishment of plant.

- You will be required to work on a shift pattern basis
- You will be able to apply for the Apprentice Extra Card, providing discounts for food, travel and many retail outlets
Entry requirements
- 5 x GCSEs or equivalent - minimum of B/5 in Maths and A-C (4-9) in Science and English
