BSH are currently recruiting for an HR apprentice who will be based in Milton Keynes.  Working within this busy department you will be part of the team helping to look after staff based across the UK.

No two days will be the same, with the activities you will be involved in all areas from recruitment, managing sickness, maternity and paternity cover to exit interviews. Throughout your apprenticeship you will be fully supported and given work that supports and assists your learning.

In the role you will support the day to day HR processes, whilst actively seek to improve our ways of working by identifying improvements. You will also be competent with Microsoft Office packages Word, Excel and Powerpoint and have the ability to work flexibly within your day, responding to different challenges in a positive way, which will include being confident with managing calls to the office via telephone and in person and demonstrating a 'can do' attitude.

The role will focus on the following areas with exposure growing as your skills develop:

  • Accurate and timely input of data relevant HR systems and other HR databases as appropriate
  • Maintain accurate filing systems for all records generated within the HR department
  • Organise meetings as requested by members of the HR team, ensuring participants are invited, apologies collated, venues arranged for agenda and relevant papers circulated in a timely manner
  • Collect, open, date stamp and distribute post for the HR department.  
  • Sort, record and deliver outgoing post to collection points
  • Undertake confidential scanning, shredding and photocopying as required by the HR department
  • To provide a range of administrative support functions to the HR team
  • To undertake delegated tasks and projects as required
  • To treat all individuals with dignity and respect
  • Promote Equality & Diversity and a non-discriminatory culture
  • Identify and take action when other people's behaviour undermines Equality and Fairness

Things to consider:

  • Please ensure you are able to travel to the employer location
  • As an apprentice, you will be eligible for the Apprentice Extra Card giving you discounts for retail, restaurants and travel
  • Salary reviews will take place as you achieve pre agreed milestones.  Current salary being offered may increase depending on experience

Entry requirements

  • GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English & Maths (or equivalent)
