Library Assistant

20 hours per week

About the role.

We are recruiting a customer-focused and motivated individual to join our existing Library team. This post is an excellent entry position into a career in library and information services, or more general customer service roles. It will provide you with the skills and experience you need to deal positively with a very varied customer base in a busy, dynamic environment. This is a front line role and you will be supporting students and staff as they access resources in the libraries, issuing and returning books and journals, supporting online services and answering IT queries.

Have you got what it takes?

It would be beneficial if you have either worked in a HE library or studied in Higher Education,  but this is not essential. You will need the confidence to answer a variety of questions, including more in-depth higher level enquiries. You will have the ability to think on your feet and present a first-class customer focused experience at all times. You will need to work independently and without supervision, feeling confident to make decisions and deal with issues effectively and positively when they arise.
