An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated person to join our busy science department in the Faculty of Science and Care. The science department delivers a broad range of courses from level 1 to level 5 including Applied Science; Forensic Science; Biomedical Science and Dental Technology. The successful candidate will have a passion for practical science, have experience of working within a lab, and prep room, ideally within an educational setting.
Some of the duties for the successful applicant will be:
- Carry out technician duties and other related tasks in preparation and clearing away of practical’s in Science.
Run trials of experiments prior to classes and work with tutors to develop practical’s for lessons
Ensure all aspects of the Health and Safety Act (1974) are adhered to in the working environment and also be responsible for providing safe working conditions and safe working practices in accordance with COSHH regulations.
You should enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent IT skills; work with a high attention to detail and provide outstanding customer service. You will also be required to produce information as requested by managers, and provide information to colleagues as well as assisting with day-to-day enquiries.
The successful candidate will have knowledge of current and future trends in Education and will be familiar working in an educational setting Schools/FE.
