Associate Senior Lecturer – Interior Design Environment Architectures (0.6)

1 Year Fixed Term Contract.

Ravensbourne University London is seeking to recruit a senior lecturer to contribute to the teaching, development and growth of the Department of Architecture.

Working with the course leader, the candidate will lead on specific units, take responsibility for administrating a Year 1/Level 4-student group and contribute to teaching on the BA (Hons) Architecture, BA (Hons) Interior Design Environment Architectures, and BA (Hons) Urban Landscape Architecture courses within the Department of Architecture. The right candidate will also contribute to the development of learning and teaching, using the Institution’s Virtual Learning Environment, and key aspects of the academic life cycle e.g. student recruitment and interviewing, induction, setting project briefs, delivering learning teaching and assessment, annual monitoring and review and contributing to research and professional practice.

Applicants should have undergraduate and postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject, and professional accreditation with ARB are also desirable as is HEA accreditation / a PGCE or a willingness to complete either within 18 months of appointment. He/She will have professional knowledge of and experience in the architecture profession together with academic teaching experience. Research experience would be an advantage.

In particular applicants should have a working understanding of the contexts and production of constructed space design, sound knowledge of industry relevant software, an interest in the development of new modes of practice, and a commitment to emerging technologies with a keen interest in learning associated new tools and techniques e.g. prototyping, user-centred design.

Additionally, candidates should be familiar with the virtual learning environment, including the production of online learning materials, and be able to promote effective induction and health and safety awareness by proactively supporting Technical Tutors.
