Management Information Systems Developer

Blackpool Sixth is an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education and we have an exciting opportunity for a Management Information Systems (MIS) Developer to join our team. This permanent position is well suited to you if you have excellent IT and technical skills including knowledge of programming with web-based languages such as php, Javascript etc. and you are looking to advance a career in a thriving and supportive workplace.

Working within the MIS and Exams department you will work closely with others in the team to develop and maintain our existing innovative and dynamic in-house systems. There are a number of new curriculum initiatives emerging that will require significant changes to the way the college operates and particularly its systems, so there will be an opportunity to work individually on specific projects. The team’s driving vision is to provide high-quality systems and reports that support the delivery of an exceptional learning experience for our students.

A day in the role of MIS Systems Developer could see you

  • designing and delivering intelligent and innovative solutions to make data more meaningful for curriculum staff and senior leaders
  • assisting in, and responding to, help desk requests from users experiencing issues with the core web-based data interface
  • working with team colleagues to continue to improve MI systems integration and effective information delivery
