Location: Chaffron Way and Bletchley Campus.

Hours: 29.6 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.

Milton Keynes College are looking to appoint a creative and enthusiastic team player to join the team as a Technician in our School of Arts.

As technician for the School of Arts, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective operation of all support areas. This will include managing stock and resources effectively whilst ensuring that both students and staff are working in a safe environment, helping and guiding students in the use and care of equipment, you will also have the opportunity to assist with internal and external events, projects, exhibitions, work experience opportunities and student visits, this may include working evenings and weekends.

As a successful candidate, you will have:

  • A qualification minimum Level 3 or equivalent in an arts and design subject
  • A Health & Safety qualification or be willing to work towards
  • A current driving licence that includes D1 conditions to drive
  • Experience in assessing/training and up-to-date knowledge of the fine art and / or digital art background
  • Experience in using up to date arts software within the digital arts field
  • Previous experience of managing stock/resources effectively
  • Experience in curating/organising and installing exhibition work
  • Current knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and be able to promote outstanding health and safety practice
  • Good basic general education including GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Relevant industry experience and a willingness to maintain it
  • An ability to engage and motivate students
