Lecturer in Games Design and Interactive Media

Our curriculum area of Media is looking for a Lecturer in Games Design and Interactive Media to undertake specified programme leadership for a Digital Media programme. The successful candidate will teach effectively on a range of courses within the curriculum area as a course leader and perform other duties associated with the role of a Band 2 Lecturer.

The role will include delivering effective and inspirational teaching and learning sessions across a range of digital media courses, at FE and HE levels. Areas of specific expertise to include practical computer games development techniques,  animation and project management of digital media content, critical and contextual approaches and the business aspects of the digital media and games industry. You will also carry out appropriate assessment activities, including supervising examinations, marking students’ work, designing and setting assessed work and using virtual learning environments (VLE).

The ideal candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in an appropriate subject or equivalent, together with a teaching qualification, for example Cert Ed or PGCE or willingness to achieve this in post. You will show effective and consistent high quality teaching and learning experience within Further and/or Higher Education, and be able to teach across a range of courses.
