Term Time Only (38 weeks).

Are you a pro-active, enthusiastic and a personable individual?  Do you have experience in working with people within an educational organisation? If so we have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Learning Mentor. We have 1.3 FTE vacancies available and part time hours will be considered. 

In this pivotal role you will enable staff to refer students to a team of appropriately skilled staff when they become at risk of withdrawing or being withdrawn and becoming NEET.

You will work with students ensuring plans and support are in place to address barriers to learning. You will also develop relationships with a range of external partners to ensure students are supported out of college hours by a range of professionals appropriate to their needs.

About You

Educated to Level 2 in English and Maths you will also have level 3 safeguarding qualification and a professional qualification in youth work, teaching, careers or guidance.

You will have experience of mentoring a caseload of young people and setting targets which address barriers to learning and support achievement. 

Experience of supporting young people with challenging behaviours/attitudes, you will have the ability to raise aspirations and motivate learners to achieve and attend College.
