Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (CAD and Project Design)

As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering (CAD and Project Design), you will benefit from the superbly-equipped workshops and specialist rooms available at our purpose-built Castleford Campus. The Engineering team has strong links with industry on a regional and international level.

You will teach on a range of Mechanical Engineering courses up to Level 4 and assist in the development, organisation and delivery of the Engineering curriculum area. As a Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of our students, by providing them with the skills, knowledge and training required to enable them to achieve their goals; while ensuring the economic development and success of engineering industries.

We are looking for an energetic and motivated person, who has a passion for engineering, up-to-date industry knowledge and expertise in a range of traditional and, ideally, contemporary practical engineering skills, and is enthusiastic about working with young people, adults and employers.

You should currently hold:

  • Mechanical Engineering Qualifications at NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • A Computer Aided Design level 3 qualification
  • GCSE A* - C in Maths and English qualifications (Grades 9-4) or equivalent

You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working within an Engineering industry
  • Experience and excellent technical knowledge of CAD and CNC Programming and Machining
  • Experience of Teaching / Training, up to level 3, ideally in the Further Education sector

*Salary is dependent on qualifications:

Unqualified: £24,514 - £25,990 pro rata per annum 

Qualified: £26,767 - £31,022 pro rata per annum 

Up to £33,890 + Market forces payment options could be accessible for a fully qualified, suitably experienced/exceptional candidates.  This can be discussed at interview.
