Are you looking for a career in Engineering? This role involves carrying out all engineering/technical maintenance duties and ensuring that the standard are maintained. You will learn about the organisation and receive support and training.
The apprentice will provide support for carrying out all engineering/technical maintenance, breakdowns and overhauls on the site to a satisfactory conclusion, ensuring the level of electrical and mechanical spares are always maintained. To enhance the engineering/technical standards of the plant with the use of a thorough planned maintenance system and to ensure all site essentials such as compressors, transformers, LV switchgear and loading equipment is maintained to optimum levels at all times.
Main duties and responsibilities will include:
- Efficiently plan and organise the site's inbound and outbound, movement of goods, liaising with other company department's and 3rd party providers.
- Liaise closely with other functions e.g. Shift Supervisors, Production Manager, Quality & EHS Officer, Engineering personnel and Operations Director to ensure adequate information is relayed to optimise performance
- Control a spares store properly indexed with a system for controlling the issue and subsequent re-order
- Ensure the present planned maintenance schedules are correct and recorded
- Suggest and initiate new projects to enhance the sites performance
- Ensure effective use of Engineering spares/resource
- Comply with the current agreed call out system, providing the site with essential out of hours engineering cover Initiate any changes to working practices as deemed necessary in the interest of enhancing the sites performance
- Responsible for any Engineering/Electrical breakdown within the site
- Responsible for all Electrical distribution equipment on the site HV. LV. etc.
- To liaise and take responsibility of relevant project work on the site
- To maintain a working maintenance schedule for the essential sites equipment
- Comply with all policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy working environment is maintained
- Abide by the company's environmental and quality management procedures
- Carry out any reasonable duties we request that are within personal abilities, irrespective of grade/skill level

- The company works a shift pattern, initially you will only be required to work during the day, Monday to Friday, but this may change during your apprenticeship but not in Year 1
