Head of Department - Student Support

The Manchester College has many Campus locations across Greater Manchester, each with its own specialist cutting-edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment. We are the largest Further Education College in the UK providing education and training to a wide range of learners. 

We now have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Head of Department of Student Support on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

The purpose of the role is to provide outstanding management and leadership in the development, planning, delivery and monitoring of student support and experience for student on campus.

In order to do this, you will need:

• Must have teaching qualification or current relevant industry experience
• Must have Numeracy and Literacy skills (level 2 or equivalent)
• Proven track record of management of a large and diverse team
• Must have experience in quality assurance/control processes and procedure and in particular SAR processes and business planning
• Experience of effective resource and performance management utilising computerised management information systems
• Experience of staff training and appraisal
• Demonstration of ability and vision in developing the curriculum
• Interpersonal leadership skills
